Dri-Kule filters are a wire basket which is designed to fit in the bottom of a pipe bowl and keep the tobacco clear of any moisture or residue which may form in the bottom of the bowl. Simply Place a single filter in the bottom of the bowl before filling to keep moisture from being drawn up through the stem. The filter will last several smokes and should be replaced when it becomes clogged up. These are still manufactured to the original 1901 design
