Ashton Rainy Day pipe tobacco is blended from a mixture of Black Cavendish, bright and dark Virginia’s and a fragrant Burley leaf which is topped with a pleasant note of Hickory and tropical fruit. The added flavours enhance the natural notes of the tobaccos. The mixture is aged in whiskey barrels for a month to produce a rich, smooth balanced and complex smoke. Mild to medium in terms of its strength and nicotine content with a very pleasant room aroma.

Ashton Rainy Day pipe tobacco and is generally moist to the touch and will benefit from the tin being left open for half an hour before loading into the pipe bowl.

To fully appreciate the flavour and taste we recommend that the mixture is smoked at a slow pace to prevent the tobacco burning hot which will impair the taste and aroma, cause the pipe to overheat and potentially causing the dreaded tongue bite.

The Ashton Pipe brand was created on 1983 by pipe maker Bill Ashton-Taylor and the renowned pipe aficionado R D Field. The following year Robert Levin, following discussion with R D Field, named his new cigars Ashton based on the excellent reputation built by Ashton pipes.

Having created some of the finest pipes and cigars in the world the next step for Ashton was the highest possible quality of pipe tobacco. Blended and produced by Kohlhase and Kopp in Germany these are premium quality pipe tobaccos.
