The 25g pack of Capstan Navy Cut pipe tobacco is a ready rubbed blend of premium Virginia tobacco leaf with no added flavouring.  Created by W.D. & H.O. Wills of Bristol over a century ago around 1893 it was their legacy brand, and it remains a favourite to many pipe smokers across generations today. Notes of natural sweet tangy dark fruit, light pepper, spice, wood and hay blend to form a complex background to the wonderful tobacco flavours of the Virginia leaf.  Mild to medium in terms of its strength, flavour and nicotine content.  A blend that burns cool, clean and smooth with a very consistent flavour and leaves very little moisture in your pipe bowl. Capstan will appeal to those who like to smoke a straight Virginia tobacco.

Capstan Navy Cut pipe tobacco is ribbon cut and is slightly moist to the touch but should not require any additional preparation or drying before loading into the pipe bowl.

To fully appreciate the flavour and taste we recommend that the mixture is smoked at a slow pace to

• prevent the tobacco burning hot which will impair the taste and aroma,
• cause the pipe to overheat and potentially causing the dreaded tongue bite.
