The Aran series of pipes was first launched by Peterson in 1965. The range was inspired by and named after a group of Islands, the Aran Islands, which are located just off the coast of Galway Bay, Ireland. The natural beauty of the islands is reflected in the simple yet stylish, hand applied warm medium walnut stain. The Peterson Aran 06 Smooth briar pipe is finished with a jet black vulcanite stem and fishtail mouthpiece. The fishtail mouthpiece directs smoke to the back of the palate and creates a smooth and easy draw. The Peterson Aran 06 is a straight pipe with a medium/large Billiard bowl. This robust pipe has a tall bowl allowing the fingers to wrap comfortably around this classic style pipe and a thick wall which helps to keep the bowl cool.
