Samuel Gawith Brown No.4 is a spun twist blended from dark fired Kentucky and Virginia leaf with added cigar leaf. Whole leaf in its purest form is used to blend this powerful tobacco. The Virginia has bold notes of earth, spice, some tangy dark fruit and a subtle sweetness. The Kentucky adds smoky, nutty and woody aromas whilst the cigar leaf adds notes of coffee bean and light pepper. This full-strength blend is bursting with rich tobacco flavours and has a potent nicotine kick. If you are trying this for the first time, we recommend you use a small bowl pipe and a lot of patience to fully appreciate this blend.

Samuel Gawith Brown No.4 is generally cut into coins before being rubbed out, or folded into the pipe bowl, This rich brown oily tobacco generally does not need any additional drying time.

To fully appreciate the flavour, taste and to moderate the high nicotine content we recommend that the mixture is smoked at a slow pace to prevent the tobacco burning hot which will impair the taste and aroma, cause the pipe to overheat and potentially causing the dreaded tongue bite.
