The Standard System pipe was Peterson’s original collection first launched in 1865 and the classic shapes provide the template for many of the pipe ranges still produced by the company. The standard system is a unique pipe with its higher draft hole, moisture reservoir, patented graduated bore mouth piece and P-lip: this is were design meets functionality to produce a wonderful smoking experience. The Peterson Standard System Smooth XL315 briar pipe has a deep bend and an extra large bell shaped calabash bowl. This shape first appeared as a Sherlock Holmes commemorative pipe in 1987 and introduced as part of the standard system range in 2020. The height and shape of this beautifully balance pipe ensures that it is equally comfortable whether cradled in the hand or resting in the mouth.

Perfectly balanced the Peterson Standard System Smooth Heritage XL315 briar pipe has a sturdy Nickel military mount stamped with the original “K&P” logo, a traditional hand applied walnut and burgundy stain. The acrylic stem (which can be purchased separately) features the iconic P-Lip which directs smoke to the roof of the mouth helping to prevent the dreaded tongue bite and also activating more of the flavour receptors on the palate.
